We’re thrilled to introduce several new updates that will improve your interaction with our platform. Autopass integration, search by inventory ID, streamlined order line changes, and the addition of a booking summary PDF are just a few of the exciting features we’ve implemented to streamline your processes and enhance your efficiency.
These updates are part of our ongoing commitment to Sharefox’s rental and hire software: a platform built specifically to help rental businesses run booking, inventory, and billing in one place, without duct-taping together spreadsheets and third-party tools.
Autopass Integration
For those renting out vehicles, we now have the ability to connect to Autopass and add toll road & ferry passings directly to your orders. You can also add your own margins to the passing fees, so toll costs stop being an administrative headache and start being a small, predictable revenue line.

This is especially relevant if you run a car rental or car subscription business, where customers frequently cross toll roads and ferry routes and expect a single, transparent invoice rather than a separate bill from a third party weeks later.
“The businesses that win in vehicle rental aren’t the ones with the most cars — they’re the ones who remove friction from every single touchpoint, including the ones customers never see, like toll billing.” — Sharefox Head of Product (add name/title before publishing)

Search by Inventory ID
Finding orders is now easier with the ability to search by inventory ID directly in the orders overview. If you manage a large or fast-moving fleet, this is a small change that saves real time — no more scrolling through customer names to find which order a specific unit is tied to.
This pairs well with the broader inventory and rental management system already built into Sharefox, and complements our guidance on getting a clear overview of your inventory.

Streamlined Order Line Changes
As you might have noticed, making changes to order lines has been simplified by consolidating similar options into a single “Change” function — one place to go, instead of hunting through several menus for the option you need.

Order Line Price Adjustments
If you have created an order and want to adjust the total price for that order line:
- Click the pencil icon to the right of the order line
- Select “Update Order Line”
- Select “Add discount”
- Enter the new “Final price”
In the past we had some rounding problems related to this feature — this is now solved.
Getting pricing right matters more than most operators expect. For background on why, see our guide on effective pricing strategies for rental businesses and how a flexible pricing engine supports it.

Booking Summary PDF

For orders with multiple changes, you can now generate a booking summary PDF to give customers a clean, final overview of everything on their order.
- Go into the order
- Select “Actions”
- Select “Download PDF”
- Select the top line

This is a small feature with an outsized effect on customer trust — a documented summary reduces disputes and support tickets after the fact, something we’ve also touched on in our piece on invoicing and accounting integrations.
Why These Small Changes Matter
None of these four updates is a headline feature on its own. But together, they represent the kind of continuous, practical refinement that separates rental software you tolerate from rental software that actually works for you day to day. That philosophy runs through everything we build — from self-service rental workflows to subscription management to the Sharefox API that ties it all together.
Before vs. After This Update
| Task | Before This Update | After This Update |
|---|---|---|
| Toll & ferry fees on vehicle rentals | Tracked and billed manually, outside the platform | Added automatically via Autopass, with your own margin applied |
| Finding an order tied to a specific unit | Search by customer name or order number only | Search directly by inventory ID |
| Changing an order line | Several separate options for price, discount, and date changes | One consolidated “Change” function |
| Sharing a final order overview with a customer | Manually compiled by staff | One-click booking summary PDF |
A Quick Note on Rounding and Trust
Small billing errors — like the rounding issue we’ve now resolved in order line price adjustments — matter more than their size suggests. Accurate, transparent pricing is consistently cited as a top driver of trust in subscription and rental-style businesses, which is part of why we treat fixes like this with the same priority as new features. If pricing clarity is something you’re actively working on, our guide to proper pricing as a key factor in rental business is a useful next read.
